Meet Pippa
Having been a midwife and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC ) for over 20 years, I am passionate about helping mothers breastfeed comfortably and reach their breastfeeding goals, while enjoying their precious baby or babies!
I have been a hospital based Registered Midwife for 30 years, the last 20 of those in the Postnatal ward of a major Sydney teaching hospital. I first gained the IBCLC credential (the gold standard for Lactation professionals), in 1998 and have kept it current since with regular attendance at a wide range of in person and online seminars and conferences, so that I to stay up to date with the latest research and ideas.
As the mother of two breastfed children, now in their early 20s, I have also been an Australian Breastfeeding Association counsellor for over 20 years. My own struggles and the experience I’ve gained with many mothers since, has made me well aware of the challenges breastfeeding mothers encounter. I am also well-versed in the demands of returning to work, and the delights of the longer-term breastfeeding relationship.
I have experience in caring for women from diverse cultural backgrounds and I am committed to practicing with cultural awareness. Although on this website I largely refer to mothers as ‘she’ and ‘her’, I recognise that regular pronouns may not suit all parents. Families today come in all shapes and sizes. Please rest assured that I aim to be inclusive of all. I will use whatever pronouns you prefer and do my level best to meet your needs appropriately.
I want to cherish you and enable you to cherish your child, yourself, and your family by enjoying breastfeeding. I look forward to hearing your story and working with you towards an outcome that gives a positive direction to your parenting journey.
